West Suburban Parents of Multiples started as a small group of parents in October, 1996.
Originally named, the West Suburban Mothers of Multiples (WSMoMs), our club has expanded both in numbers and geography. We now have hundreds of paid members and subscribers in Forest Park, Berwyn, Brookfield, Riverside, LaGrange, Western Springs and the surrounding areas. Most have found true friends through this organization and seek to keep strengthening those bonds of friendship and support among all our members.
In 2016, we officially changed our name to the West Suburban Parents of Multiples (WSPoMs) to make all parents who are deep in the challenge of raising multiples feel supported and welcomed.
Members of WSPoMs are dedicated to helping those in need; we’re always looking for ways to give back to our community. During our Resales and our holiday Merry Mingle, we contribute to the national organization Soles for Souls and the local organization New Moms Inc. In addition, each year the WSPoMs Board selects local, national and international charities as its annual Philanthropic Project.
As with many non-profits, we grow and thrive thanks to the efforts of our amazing volunteers. The club is run with a small Board of Directors who maintain club business and records, and many small Committees and Chairs who manage the day-to-day operations of Programs, Events and Support. It takes a village!
By volunteering your time and talent, you help keep the club relevant to your needs and make sure your voice is heard. If you are interested in getting involved, we hold four business meetings a year to plan our events and discuss our initiatives. It is a perfect way to build relationships and enhance the club!
